F. Developing as a Professional Educator

TPE12. Professional, Legal and Ethical Obligations

How can technology help you develop as a professional educator?

Reflection:
1. Google Scholar (TPE13) Technology provides a host of opportunities to grow as a professional educator. There are literally millions of professional articles posted to read online. One excellent source for professional articles is Google Scholar.

"Google Scholar provides a simple way to broadly search for scholarly literature. From one place, you can search across many disciplines and sources: peer-reviewed papers, theses, books, abstracts and articles, from academic publishers, professional societies, preprint repositories, universities and other scholarly organizations. Google Scholar helps you identify the most relevant research across the world of scholarly research." (from the Google Scholar page)

Tutorials are everywhere on the Internet. If you want to learn how to do something on the computer, chances are you'll find a tutorial that will walk you through it. One of my favorites is Learning Electric. This site walks you through basic Microsoft products as well as other applications geared towards student and teacher productivity. What a great way to develop as a professional educator. Check it out! It's free!
